So we’ll take away that awkwardness by just hitting the reset button and starting over.
In all fairness to us, we never in a million years thought that Cookie Lynn would take off like it did. We thought we’d have a client here, a client there. Ease into this whole owning a business thing. But the company took off (we’ve already had returning clients, yay!) and so all those ‘other’ things just got pushed to the side (like running a blog and facebook page).
But with the addition of another Cookie Lynn teammate, we’re slowly hitting our stride, and very excited about what the future holds for us and our clients. You can expect consistent communication via this blog (a post a week). You can also get interesting tidbits on our facebook page: tips, shout outs to our clients, funny cartoons, etc. Basically, we’re hoping to enhance our promise of being your affordable go-to place for formatting and edits. So if there’s anything we can do to make that message even better, please let us know.
And now we’ll get to that reintroduction part. I’ll go first.
My name is Kelley Lynn and I’m the developmental editor for Cookie Lynn. I’ve been writing since July 2011 and have been lucky to have so many in the writing industry help me to reach the place where I am today. Through self and traditional publishing, I’ve released five books (a sixth before the year is up). I know how important honest and constructive feedback is to an author’s work and truly enjoy working with the author to make their work jump off the page. I’m so lucky to be a part of Cookie Lynn and really look forward to what’s in store for the future.
And I’m Cassie Mae, formatter and founder of Cookie Lynn pub (I’m the Cookie part ;) ) I’ve been published with Random House since 2013, and have self published a few other titles. I just had my 14th release, and have books planned all the way through 2019, so I don’t think I’m going anywhere for a while, lol. Writing is my passion, but formatting is my nerd-girl obsession. I enjoy a set process in the chaos that is the world of publishing—formatting there is a wrong way and a right way. There’s the mathematician side of me coming out ;) I’ve also edited for three years, from development to proofreading. I’m stoked to continue helping out future and existing authors!
Hey everyone. I'm Suzi, and I do the line edits and copy edits. I've been writing since 2010 but am working on that trying-to-get-published thing. I've always loved editing and am lucky now to also do it as a job through Cookie Lynn. I've never been the grammar-Nazi type, but my interest in reading, writing, and how our language works goes all the way back to my English classes in school. I'm grateful to get to read so many terrific manuscripts, helping those authors reach their potential. And I thank Kelley and Cassie for inviting me to be a part of their terrific team.
I'm Candice Toone, Cookie Lynn's social media/client relations intern. I joined the Cookie Lynn team in September 2015 and I count myself very fortunate to be working with such a talented and dedicated team of positive women. I've been dabbling in the writing world and attending conferences since 2010 (that's how I met Cassie Mae - lucky for me!) and I'm finally feeling brave enough to dig in and make a go at a writing career. My first publication (a romantic novella) was released in April 2015. I plan to release another novella and at least one full-length novel in by the end of 2016. My job at Cookie Lynn is to make sure that all of you have the best experience possible, so please, please, please let me know what you think and what you need. I'm all ears.
So that's us! Hopefully you have a little better idea now who your friendly neighborhood Cookie Lynn crew is. Don't be shy. Come say 'hi', ask us questions.
We're really looking forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your dreams.
