Less than two weeks left until Christmas and most people I know are kicking it in gear to get things done. If you're looking for a few fun writerly gifts, I've got a couple suggestions.
There's so many awesome books for writers out there, but here's two I've read.
Stephen King's On Writing is a terrific memoir for any writer to read. It's got lots of great writing advice, but also tons of terrific stories. The beginning of his writing career is interesting and inspiring, and I'd definitely put this on your to read list.
My other suggestion is Strunk and White's The Elements of Style. It's a small and compact grammar guide, compared to the 1000+ page Chicago Manual of Style that I use for editing, and could easily fit into anybody's stocking!
Another terrific idea is notebooks. I know not all writers use them, but most of my writer friends do.
Here a few fun notebooks from Zazzle.com. (And they have some you can personalize too.)
Sorry for the wacky layout,
I couldn't get these guys to line up right
No, this has nothing to do with writing, but isn't this pretty?
I'm no grammar nazi, but this made me chuckle.
This is my last post of the year, so Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays...
whatever you celebrate.
See you in 2016.
