Write every day like it's January 1st

I love the new year. Goals and energy to keep them run high. We're 5 days in and I'm still gung-ho about ALL of them. Realistically, I know something is going to fall through the cracks, but I'm going to take advantage of the motivation I have now.

Thinking about it though, comparing my writing goals from three years ago, I realize what I really want to do is rewind to when actually writing was the least of my worries. My goals were all about publishing and marketing and querying and such because I had books to do those things with. Now I'm struggling to keep up with supply and demand. And it has nothing to do with time and has everything to do with laziness.

So this year instead of typing a few paragraphs and giving up the moment I have a creative hiccup, I'm going to push through and write as if it's January 1st and I promised myself to keep my goals, defeat my laziness, and become a happier writer. Because really, I'm much prouder of myself when I actually accomplish something than when I aimlessly wander about the house. ;)

What are some of your writer goals this year?
